My Heroes... Carter Braxton...

Carter Braxton was born to wealthy farmers and an orphan at an early age, along with his brother. His first wife died in childbirth, with their second child, at the age of 21. His second wife bore him 16 children. I'm looking forward to the book containing brief histories of the wives of the signers.

He was involved in the cause of freedom early on. I found it interesting that he wasn't considered brilliant but was lauded for his sound judgment and remarkable prudence and forethought. He served in public office most of his adult life and died at the age of 60.

Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence is a reprint of an 1848 original.

Week 179 of REAL...

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.

PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.

21: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT.

22: 2-mile walk. PT.

23: Rest.

24: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT.

25: 1/2 mile walk. PT.

26: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT.

27: 1/2 mile walk. PT.

The first picture was taken in February 2012. The second picture was taken in June 2012. Inspiration, at least to me:

Brain Dump

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
