Tuesday Follow Up...

How'd I do?

Dictation is done.

I'm reading a new book I'm having trouble putting down, a good thing, but I'm also writing. Even better.

Reluctant Knight had material added. Yay!

Now, if I can simply keep up the momentum.

My Heroes... Abigail Smith Adams

Mrs. Adams has always been one of my favorites. Wives of the Signers gives a lovely tribute her. I first became well acquainted with her through the book Those Who Love by Irving Stone. The joy of learning about Abigail is that one is able to do so through her own words. She was a prolific letter writer. Part of the reason I came to love John Adams was because I saw him through her eyes.

She endured much in her life, never giving up.

Can you imagine growing up in a small farming community, living quietly on her husband's farm and eventually finding yourself thrown into the intrigues of upper class society in Europe? She had little education but read a great deal. She did what needed to be done despite her own struggles with her health.

I want to be like Abigail: Brave, faithful, never give up.

Reset...

I've had a two-week change of pace, petsitting. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity.

The question: What new habits will come of this?

I don't want to go back to the way I used to be. The next few weeks will determine what changes will remain and what other new changes I'll embrace.

I took the opportunity to watch several movies: LOTR, Hobbit, HP, King's Speech, Lone Survivor, Captain America, and The Avengers. I'm definitely a Captain America fan. :-)

Week 209 of REAL

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.

PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.

19: Short walk. Stretch. I pretty much forgot everything else.

20: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.

21: Rest.

22: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.

23: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.

Brain Dump

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
