Carpe Diem... Daytona

NASCAR ~ Carl Edwards was my driver, but he's stepping back from racing to spend more time with his family. I need a new driver to follow. Michael McDowell is my new driver. He came in 15th, which is good for him. Go Michael!

My Heroes... The Kendrick Brothers

The Kendrick Brothers are Christian film producers, including Flywheel, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous, and War Room. Each movie has inspired and uplifted me. Previous movies are referenced in later movies. It's fun to look for those. As far as I know, it isn't planned yet, but I'm looking forward to the next one. Bless those who share their gifts.

Week 396 of REAL

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.  Since my accident I haven't done these, but I'm working to add them back into my routine.

PT ~ Physical therapy
UB ~ Upper body exercises

SEALFit shared some good hints I want to learn and remember:

17: Short walks. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights x1. Stretch.

18: 1-mile walk rain. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights x2. Stretch.

19: Rest.

20: 2-mile walk. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights x2. Stretch. Yard work.

21: Short walks. PT. UB.
Used 1-lb weights x1. Stretch.

22: 2-mile walk. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights x2. Stretch.

23: Short walks. PT. UB.
Used 1-lb weights x1. Stretch.

Another Follow Up

After feeling like I didn't accomplish nearly as much as I wanted to on Monday, I gave myself permission to start over on Tuesday. Rolled out of bed with my alarm clock. Did my grocery shopping and exercised considerable self-control. I didn't buy any of the Valentine stuff still on sale. I knew I'd come in under budget and gave myself permission to buy the RedCopper 10" skillet I've wanted to buy, as my old teflon pan is "flaking." I didn't buy other treats I craved. Thanks God, for help with the self-control. I recycled the books I didn't want to keep. Talked to an estate planner and have a goal to set up what's needed for me by the end of the year. Taxes are done, and refilled 2- and 3-gallon water bottles. All done before noon. Ate a pretty healthy. Did my physical therapy. Chatted with my sister. Read a bit. Worked on Giving Thanks. Go me. Give the battle to God and Praise God in the storm.

My Heroes... Tim Tebow

I read his book "Shaken" and loved it. One of my social media friends is a huge fan. It's because of her I bought the book. I'm so glad I did. He understands the need to ask, "Okay, God, now what?"

Perspective

It's important to know what it is that you want to see or emphasize in your life.

The cozy bench, with flash:

Or the twinkling lights without flash:

What do you want to see in your life? Where will you focus your attention?

Brain Dump

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
