Halloween is coming...
Celebrate with a story.
Secondhand Samhain
The seventh novella in the series.
Jan Connor, the new manager of the secondhand shop Vintage Holiday, loves her job, her town, and her life. She doesn't need anything except a little bit of help. Her annual Halloween birthday party isn't coming together, and her antiquated computer system is only making it worse.
Trent McDonald, computer guru extraordinaire, is looking for a place to call home. His brother, Cowboy, suggested Holiday might offer what he needs but never mentioned Vintage Holiday's pretty shop manager.
Between one breath and the next, God changes everything...

Brain Dump
After the "Boiling" summer, I wonder more and more about the intelligence of the elite screaming about global warming. It's like they pay no attention to logic or facts. In my own area, I live on the outskirts of a big city in the desert. They complained about how much hotter it is. Are they oblivious to the fact that they removed trees and grass because they used water and replaced them with desert landscaping, you know, like rocks. How do they not know that rocks are hotter than trees and grass? Did they really think those new rock gardens would keep their heat all to themselves and make no difference in the overall temperature? Another "little" known fact is that we've only been keeping record of temperatures since way back in 1895. They believe the world is millions of years old, and yet they are basing their "scientific" claims on 130 years of records. Did they miss the PBS special that reported weather cycled, 100 years of calm and 1000 years of wildly extreme weather? It even suggested we were nearing the end of the 100 years of calm. Knowledge without wisdom quickly becomes foolishness.

131. White Knight (Courage series Book 2) by Staci Stallings contemporary Christian romance.
132. For Real (Courage series Book 3) by Staci Stallings contemporary Christian romance. Love this whole series.
133. Summer's Cowboy (Sweet Cowboy Seasons series Book 1) by Kathleen Ball contemporary western romance.
134. Reflections On Life by Staci Stallings nonfiction inspiration. I'm listening to this one on YouTube. It's on my Wish List.
135. The 9-12 Project by Staci Stallings nonfiction inspiration. Worked through it again. I'll take a little time off and start it again. It helps me focus more on God, what He expects and wants for me and to be open to what He works through me.

My power company included a flier with my bill. One of the articles said "Electricity is the New Fuel." Bangs head against the wall. Electricity is power not fuel. Electricity for practical use requires generation by another fuel, coal, gas, solar, wind, nuclear. Either they're stupid or they think their customers are.

126. As I Have Loved You by Kitty de Ruyter Bons lived through the Japanese occupation of Indonesia during World War II as a child. This is the autobiography of her life. The experiences of the concentration camp in Indonesia were heartbreaking but sadly familiar from reading other such stories. She moved to Holland and finally America. A remarkable woman from a remarkable family. Their faith saw them through so much. She and her husband eventually joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I first started reading I was caught up in how much like Thailand everything sounded. Memories washed over me.
127. Vestige of Power (Vestige in Time series Book 1) by Sara Blackard Christian speculative romance. I'm not a fan of time travel, but this had an interesting twist.
128. I'll Always Love You (Sunset Beach Stories Book 1) by Annie Carr, Sharon Hamilton contemporary romance. Sharon writes steamy SEAL romances. Under her Annie Carr name, she writes sweet romances. There is still some swearing and implied premarital relations. So if you love her SEAL books, this will be a sweet story. If you like Christian romance books, with no swearing etc, this book is not for you. For me, I've known Sharon for years, and she is a wonderful woman. I took the opportunity to reflect on my first love and realized I had no idea what love was. I was infatuated and then didn't know how to be mature enough to walk away when I realized it wasn't healthy. I can forgive him and me. I needed that.
129. Deep in the Heart by Staci Stallings contemporary Christian romance. Yes, I listened to the audiobook on YouTube, again. I love her stories.
130. To Protect and Serve (Courage series Book 1) by Staci Stallings contemporary Christian romance. I've read it before. This is the next book she's offering as an audiobook on YouTube. I enjoyed the first chapter installment and decided to reread it because I couldn't wait for the rest of the story. I look forward to listening to each chapter. She posts something at 5pm PDT every day. It's fun to be there for the premiere introduction.

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
