Carpe Diem... Charlotte
NASCAR ~ Austin Dillon came in 1st. He's an up and comer. I've been watching him and am not disappointed in this win. Las Vegas had him at 100 to 1 to win. "Give it to God and He will take you places you never imagined." He praised God and thanked God. I like this kid. Think I'll add him to my list. Truex came in 3rd. McDowell came in 21st. And Yeley (a part-time driver I've followed for years) came in 27th. Go Michael McDowell!

My Heroes... The Families of the Fallen
With the coming of Memorial Day, another year passes for those with an empty place at the table. Special occasions have come and gone without their warrior present and no hope of a coming home. Families expand and yet there will always be the empty place at the table. The initial shock and crushing pain will ease, but there will always be an empty place at the table. God willing, good memories will eventually shine more light on the empty place at the table, so a smile springs forth instead of a tear. The tears that come will hopefully be brief and comforting, in time. God bless the families of the fallen, for their loved ones already rest in the hollow of His hand.

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each. Since my accident I haven't done these, but I'm working to add them back into my routine.

SEALFit shared some good hints I want to learn and remember:

My Heroes... Military Personnel
May is military appreciation month. I'm grateful for those who choose to serve in the defense of our country. I have family and friends who have served or are serving. I've read personal stories in books and on blogs and watched interviews and movies. I don't pretend to understand it all. I only know that because of so many remarkable examples I've worked to become a better person. Freedom isn't free.

Really. I was down to ten pages... then again, maybe I miscounted. After all, I balanced my checkbook and discovered I'd written in one entry amount wrong and subtracted another entry wrong. Fortunately, I wasn't too far off after those blunders.
