They can put a Rover on Mars but can't move water from water logged parts of the country to drought ridden parts of the country...things that make you go hmmmm....

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

A few short walks. Tree/bush trimming. Physical therapy. Ate well some days and not so much other days. Sleep is improving since turning down the A/C from 83 to 82; amazing what a difference a degree can make. Drinking water, some days only the minimum but better about doing a little bit more.

Brain Dump

A couple months ago, the "Science" personification declared his science of social distancing wasn't really science, and I'm still supposed to take him seriously. Really? Give me a break.

TBR 2024

106. Enemy Waters by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance. A rare stand alone.

107A Colton Kidnapping (Coltons of Owl Creek series Book 6 of 12by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance. A multi-author series with a new book every month after the 20th. Fair warning, the book ends on a cliffhanger leading into the next book in the series. Greg and Briony's story is complete, quite satisfyingly.

108. Jax (Guardian Group Security Team Book 3) by Bree Livingston suspense romance. A page turner. Bree writes clean stories, as in no steamy scenes. She has plenty of action and tension.

109The Long Way Home by Staci Stallings Christian romance. I read the eformat and found it in paperback. Yes, read again and enjoyed it all over again. I saw myself in so many aspects. I need to remember that it isn't about the fish.

110. Trial of the Heart (A Holiday in Bath: Timeless Regency Collection Book 7) by multi-author Regency romance, by Julie Daines.

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

Too hot to walk. More housework. Physical therapy, including trying to increase my hand strength. Ate healthy some days and not so much other days. Trying to let go of old habits is overlapping with the effort to create new healthier habits. Sleep was good some nights and not so much other nights.

Brain Dump

It's annoying to hear the weather people gleefully announce a new record for number of days over 100, in the summer. The last record was from 1993. Wait, I thought you said that 2023 was the hottest summer ever and broke all the records. You mean you lied for dramatic effect? Disturbing. Worse, the reason those 100 degree days have been broken up in the past is because of rain. Did you know trees attract rain? What has the city done? Cut down all the trees because they use too much water. Talk about shooting yourself in the foot and then complaining about the pain.

101. Redstone Ever After (Redstone Incorporated Book 12) by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance.

102Midnight Seduction (Redstone Incorporated Book 3by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance. Somehow, it was misplaced on my Justine Davis shelf.

103. Her Un-Valentine by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance.

104The Wrangler's Bride (Fortune's Children seriesby Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance. A multi-author series. I bought the paperback edition so I could delete the eformat from my Kindle and free up more space. Justine Davis is one of my collection authors, i.e., I buy all the books, along with Staci Stallings and Traci Hunter Abramson.

105. Always a Hero by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance.

100. The Best Revenge (Redstone Incorporated Book 11by Justine Davis contemporary suspense romance. This was the book that made me a permanent JD fan. REAL Jul 29 - Aug 3

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

Some short walks. What a joy to feel a cool breeze at 6am. Summer night lows are often hotter, in the 90s, than many highs further north. We've enjoyed a lovely break from that with nights in the 80s, maybe only as low as 85 but better than 90. Thanks. God. I notice a difference in my snacking when my protein intake is higher. Eating has good days and bad days. Sleeping is still weird, some days good and some not.

Brain Dump

Riddle me this: The local news said that the high was 116. My energy company, on my bill, says it was 108. Now, I realize the temp varies in the Valley, but what if the news is using the hottest spot in order to sensationalize how bad it is? They're saying it's the second hottest July on record, which goes back about 40 years. Why do I say only 40? Because they moved the gauge about 40 years ago. Yes, I remember when the move was announced and thinking that the new location was hotter. How can you compare when they aren't using the same location?

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
