To Brian Williams: Please, stop. You didn't misspeak. You didn't stretch the truth. You weren't mistaken. You lied.
Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself.
It's one thing to be kidnapped and sold into slavery; it's a whole different kettle of fish to willingly sell yourself into slavery. Allowing the lie to remain makes you a slave to the lie and all the subsequent lies. There is never only one.
Here's how to say it: I lied. I'm sorry. It will never happen again.
Without saying that ^^^ and following through on your promise to change, you can never hope to restore your honor.

Tuesday Follow Up...
How'd I do?
I did some reading.
Yay! I added more to Reluctant Knight.
I'm working on some new routines. Some I like. Some, not so much. Giving myself another week.
The heat "burnt" the large rose a bit about the edges. I don't know why, but I like it all the more for the imperfection of it.

Carpe Diem...
What needs to be done, today?
Writing and reading.
I've other responsibilities as well, of course. However, I'm most concerned about progressing on my manuscript. I need to move forward.
This is one of my favorite pictures of one of the roses outside my window, this last spring:

My Heroes... Mark Andrew Forester
I read the book My Brother in Arms: The Exceptional Life of Mark Andrew Forester, United States Air Force Controller by Thad Forester. What a remarkable man.

I'm sure I posted this link, a while ago, from The Unknown Soldiers blog, but now I know much more about Jag 28:

I don't think I've ever been so certain of my place in the world. I want to be more like Mark.

TBR List...
41. SEAL's Promise by Sharon Hamilton Steamy Military Romance. I think this is my favorite of her books. She uses swear words, nothing I haven't read in Lone Survivor or the like. Sharon loves the SEAL community, and it comes through in her books.
42. From the Start by Melissa Tagg Christian Contemporary Romance. Melissa is on my Must Read List. She's also on my buy in paperback as a keeper list. This is the follow up to the free novella Three Little Words.
43. Discoveries: Binding Elements by Lynn Peters. The book is listed as YA (Young Adult). The story is paranormal/fantasy. There's a little swearing, though less than what I've heard on regular television. Romance is also part of the story. This is her debut book, and I enjoyed it. I had trouble putting it down to go to sleep at night, a page turner. I love that I don't feel like I have to give a qualifier in recommending this book. I'm glad I already have book 2.
44. Prophecy: Binding Elements by Lynn Peters. I enjoyed book 2. My only regret is that book 3 isn't available yet!
45. My Brother in Arms: The Exceptional Life of Mark Andrew Forester, United States Air Force Controller by Thad Forester is the biography of Mark Forester who was KIA. He was a remarkable man. I have the book in eformat, but I'd like this one in paperback.

Week 208 of REAL
REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake
What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.
PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.
12: 1-mile walk. PT. UB.
13: 1/2-mile walk. PT.
14: Rest.
15: Short walks. PT. UB.
16: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.
17: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.
18: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.
