Week 379 of REAL
REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake
What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each. Since my accident I haven't done these, but I'm working to add them back into my routine.
PT ~ Physical therapy
UB ~ Upper body exercises
SEALFit shared some good hints I want to learn and remember:
21: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.
22: 1-mile walk. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights. Stretch. Started in on cutting back the blackberry bushes.
23: Rest.
24: 1-mile walk. PT. UB. Used 1-lb weights. Stretch.

TBR
Two more authors have been moved off of my Favorites List. One I read because of the wit that's since disappeared in the writing. The other wrote a heroine that I... well, if I wrote murder mysteries, she'd be the first to die because she was simply too stupid to live. Disappointing.
62. Colton Family Rescue (The Coltons of Texas) by Justine Davis Romantic Suspense. I'm not a fan of series with different authors, especially when several of those authors are already on my "No" list. However, I love Justine's characters. It's worth not knowing the "rest of the story" to simply enjoy her piece of it.
63. A Widow's Scars by Kandi Jaynes Contemporary Romance. I love Kandi's stories. The characters are flawed and endearing. I love her secondary characters. She shares wonderful stories that draw me in and hold me to the end. She recently released a new book. It's currently on my wish list, but I'll be adding it soon.
64. Stealing the Minds of America by Janice L. Ponds Non-fiction. Janice reveals the history of the Democratic party, which wasn't what I was taught. I did my homework before reading Janice's book and was disappointed to discover how much lying and re-writing of history has occurred. Being black and conservative, she possesses a perspective often silenced by those who resent the 'agenda' being challenged. I knew the media had its own agenda, but she further exposes it. Fascinating read.
65. Highland Call (The Highlander series Book 2) by Sharon Gillenwater Regency Highlanders Christian romance. I simply love Sharon's storytelling. Her books are the kind I love to read and so few are written. My hope is that readers would consider me in the same realm.

My Heroes... Rebecca Tayloe Lee
She married Francis Lightfoot Lee, the younger brother of Richard Henry Lee. Though her family goes back to the Honorable William Taylor, of London, they don't know when the last name was changed to Tayloe. Both Rebecca and Francis came from wealthy families. Sadly, they had no children. They married in 1769 and passed away within a month of each other in 1797.
It's astounding to read of a family with only four children and only half of them growing up, while in another family there are eleven children and all of them grow up and marry. So many things are different and yet so many things the same.

Brain Dump
I'm baffled by those who advocate the end of coal and oil. Why would anyone want to return to the Dark Ages or condemn anyone else to such barbaric conditions? Cheap efficient fuel is a gift to the world.
I'll believe those who want the end of fossil fuels are sincere when they give up the following:
I Vaseline
II Plastic
1. Bags
2. Phones
3. Computers
a. All electronic devices
III Cars
1. Roads
2. All guardrails and other protective devices
IV Airplanes
V Trains
1. All travel, except by horseback, camel, elephant, etc.
VI Hotels
VII Appliances
VIII Homes
IX Stores
X Processed food of any kind... anything they didn't grow themselves
1. Anything from a farm because farmers use things like combines
XI Seafood
1. Boats
XII Shots
1. Syringes
XIII Hospitals
1. Protective gloves
2. Sterilized instruments
XIV Tennis shoes
1. Any shoes that aren't leather and made by hand
XV Research for illnesses, improvements, the next new wonder
To start.
Tell me how that works out.
I'll wait.
While I do, I'm going to enjoy the amazing blessing of fossil fuel by interacting with friends on the internet, reading a book delivered to my door, eating healthy food I bought at the store, wearing soft hypo-allergenic clothes made of material partially manmade, by the light of bulbs created in a factory that uses fossil fuel, and with electricity the majority of which is provided by coal, nuclear power, and natural gas (8.5x more than hydro, wind, and solar, combined and before those last ones are extolled for how great they are, do the homework of how much pollution they cause in creating them and disposing of them when they're no longer useful).
Whew. Out of my head.

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
