Brain Dump
April 28, I saw an interview with a doctor who said that the virus has two presentations. I'm sharing it now because I want to see what else has come out in the past month and a half. As of today, 26 June, I've heard nothing more.
He said that the virus presents in most patients as a respiratory, flu-like illness.
Then there's a much smaller group: In these patients, the virus triggers an autoimmune response, where the body attacks its own organs.
He also said that both were manageable. However, in both cases, each person must be treated as an individual. Many will respond to drug therapy. It will kill others.
The good news is that there are markers in each individual.
You can't check for a few markers and call it done. Each marker must be checked individually.
Fascinating. It's almost like God created us not as a collective, one-size-fits-all, but as unique.
It isn't like we weren't warned. While researchers try to find a one-size-fits-all solution for PTSD, those who struggle with PTSD already know there is no one-size-fits-all.

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. My pushups are against the wall.
Using 1, 2, and/or 4-lb weights:

TBR
76. Lone Star Homecoming (Texas Justice series book 5) by Justine Davis contemporary romance. The last book in the series and a satisfying end to the series.
77. Kept Secrets by Traci Hunter Abramson contemporary Christian suspense romance. This was a stand alone story, though there was a reference to the Guardians. I'd place it in my reading lineup before the Guardian series. I love her stories.
78. Operation Mistletoe (Operation Romance! series book 1) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. I've read this one before but am happily reading it again in the box set.
79. Operation Valentine (Operation Romance! series book 2) by Elizabeth Maddrey contemporary Christian romance. A sweet second chance story. There's a brief mention of Season's Bounty, from the Taste of Romance series. A fun crossover.

Brain Dump
We have greater computer capabilities than were available for the original moon launch. Instead of rooms of computers, it's all at our fingertips. And yet, people refuse to do their own homework. I've made a habit of looking up additional information, like I did about masks. People who claim to be smart continue to choose to believe whoever spouts their preferred bias. The truth is readily available to anyone willing to do a little research. For the record, finding out the truth about masks took me less than a minute. I didn't buy into one source but found more than four different, unrelated sources. If you see an article that supports your bias, ask yourself if you're willing to find the truth or if you just wanted someone to validate your opinion.
The various sites I've read on the N95 masks all state that most people can't wear them effectively without having proper training. All masks must be worn with the cloth flush to the skin, no gaps at all anywhere. Funnily enough, one of the articles I read said that you should be able to breathe. In the last three months, I've seen less than a dozen people wearing a mask correctly.
What the mask advocates don't tell you: Little mention is made of carbon dioxide poisoning from breathing your own carbon dioxide. (It's why I don't wear one.) Infections of the skin and lungs are becoming common because people are infecting themselves with their own germs.
So many things are wrong with this whole fiasco. Is COVID-19 real? Yes. Is it nasty? Yes. Will a vaccine be found? Probably not. We've no vaccine for SARs or Ebola or Lupus or a host of other nasty illnesses. We don't even have one for the common cold, which can be deadly to someone with a compromised immune system.

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself. Before baby became a word, the term was fetus, in Latin. Fetus = Baby It's a baby.
