Saw an article, last fall, and gobsmacked by the stupidity. Who spent money on researching animals' emotions and the lack of ethics in keeping pets? That money could have gone to cancer research. Here's a little research for free: If we don't keep animals as pets or for food, they won't live happy, free lives; they won't live at all. Can we treat them better? Of course. We could treat people better, too.
