What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.
PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.
6: Short walks throughout the day. PT. UB.
7: 1-mile plus walk. PT. I reached the point I couldn't stand the pain in my legs anymore, so I rubbed in arnica, rosemary, frankincense, and lavender. Yes, it helps.
8: Rest.
9: Short walks around the house. PT. UB. I'm also practicing breathing. SEALfit suggests concentrated breathing for 5 minutes. I manage for about a minute. My compromise is that I'm doing it 5x a day.
10: Lots of short walks and going up and down stairs. PT. UB.
11: 1/4-mile walk and lots of short ones. PT. UB
12: Lots of short walks. PT. UB.
