My Heroes... Mary Borden McKean and Ann Armitage

Mary married would-be signer Thomas McKean, an Irishman. Her sister, Ann, married Francis Hopkinson, another would-be signer. Sadly she only lived 10 years after their marriage, passing in 1773, but bore 6 children during that time.

Ann Armitage married Thomas McKean in 1774, and bore 4 children.

Little more is known. I recognize all the surnames.

So many long for fame and fortune, while most live quiet lives, unknown to the world at large, and yet their influence ripples through history.
