What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.
PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.
3: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch. Heat. Tennis ball.
4: 1-mile walk. PT. UB. Stretch. Heat. Tennis ball. I've been frustrated by the return of my knee buckling. What had I done? It took a bit of thought, but I figured out I'd returned to taking breaks with putting my feet up. It's too much stress on my knee. If I need to put my feet up, I need to lay down.
5: Rest.
6: 1/4-mile walk. Rain. PT. UB. Stretch. I've done something to my left hand. A shadow memory whispers through my mind. I hurt it, but I can't remember the details, only that it happened. Hate that.
7: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch. Heat. Tennis ball.
8: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch.
9: Short walks. PT. UB. Stretch. Heat. Tennis ball.
