Week 170 of REAL...

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.

PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.

19: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT. UB.

20: 2-mile walk. PT.

21: Rest.

22: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT.

23: 1/2 mile walk. PT.

24: 1-1/2 mile walk. PT.

25: 1/2 mile walk. PT.

Wednesday...

Yesterday started out so well. I accomplished what needed to be done, walk, grocery shopping, drop off and pick up work, dictation, all done. The rest of the day slid downhill from there.

The story isn't coming along. There's a reason for that. I'm not sure how to overcome this. I have a deadline a week away.

From Funny Cat Photos widget:

Doesn't mean I don't wish I could try anyway.

Tuesday Follow Up...

How's the manuscript coming along? Slowly. Too slowly.

I want a cookie, a security blanket, and a puppy. Not necessarily in that order.

Writing a tough chapter. The hero is behaving like a jerk. Don't worry, the heroine has had her turn at it. I believe people have their moments of messing up and shining through the darkness. I write Romance novels for a reason: I want the Happily Ever After.

Carpe Diem... Loudon...

NASCAR ~ Carl came in 17th in the race and is 9th in the Chase. Next week. Go Carl!

Wings to Fly is moving along, but it's pretty much all that's on the docket today.

Reading is my break, along with visits to FB and Pinterest.

Thank Goodness It's Sunday... 225...

~ My favorite eatery has given me permission to use them in my latest manuscript.

~ Said manuscript is coming along.

~ With all the rain, everything is green, green, green.

~ There are so many amazing, wonderful people in the world.

~ Lovely candles brighten my day. I'm still grateful for electricity and A/C. :-)

My Heroes... Richard Henry Lee...

Once again, the musical 1776 failed to properly portray one of the Founding Fathers. In the movie, Mr. Lee is comical relief. His reason for not being on the committee for the writing of the Declaration of Independence was because he was called home due to illness in his family.

He attended school in England and was an avid reader, devouring every book he could find, returning home at 19 years of age. I found this description fascinating: "Associated with him, was the powerful Patrick Henry, whose stormy eloquence strongly contrasted with the sweet-toned and persuasive rhetoric of Lee, but when they united their powers the shock was always irresistible." Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence reprint from the original in 1848 by B.J. Lossing.

What a remarkable man. He was involved and committed. The people trusted and revered him, and he proved himself worthy. He died at 64 and was considered a ripe old age. Times have changed.

I'm so glad I decided to investigate the Founding Fathers. I've learned so much. I wish I'd learned about them though not as the recent historians with a 20th Century point of view and Hollywood have re-written them. I think someone who wrote of them in 1848 knew the recent history better than those who lived 100 years later.

Follow the food...

Friday, rice crispies, pizza, Dove, dccf, cics, and milk.

Saturday, raspberry croissant and hot chocolate, pizza, dccf, Dove, baked potato chips, turkey sandwich, cics, and milk.

Sunday, pizza, Oreos, potato chips, roast beef, roll, pineapple, chocolate cake, ice cream sandwich, and milk.

Monday, rice crispies, chocolate cake, turkey sandwich, pretzels, Oreos, dccf, Dove, CIB, and milk.

Tuesday, rice crispies, chicken salad sandwich, pretzels, Oreos, CIB, poptarts (I needed a cheap, easy change), and milk.

Wednesday, rice crispies, poptarts, turkey and gravy, veggies, potato, Oreos, pretzels, turkey sandwich, dccf, cics, and milk.

Thursday, lemon croissant and hot chocolate (a lovely chance to relax and breathe), turkey sandwich, Oreos, pretzels, dccf, PopTarts, cics, Dove, and milk.

After I complained about "who opens a package of PopTarts and only eats 1 of the 2" I realized I open a sleeve of Oreos and eat only 2 at a time. Why can't I apply the same self-control to PopTarts? Sounds easy enough. However, I know how long it took me to learn to eat only 2 Oreos. Practice. Practice. Practice. The sooner I start, the sooner I learn.

Tomorrow is Friendship Day
