Carpe Diem... Martinsville...

NASCAR ~ Carl came in 13th. Go Carl!

After a bit of a tumble I took on Saturday, which I'm blaming on the California earthquake on Friday, I'm working to regain the full range of motion in my arm. Did a great job of saving me from a face plant, but took a beating. Swelling seems to be the worst of it. Not much bruising, thanks to arnica. A bit of comfrey tea has helped as well. Ibuprofen is a Godsend.

~ My sister for taking care of me.

~ Ibuprofen, a God inspired invention.

~ Good books that inspire and distract. :-)

Mulling over eating times...

I've read that you should eat fruits in the morning not the evening.

This week, I've experimented with it. I do feel better when I eat fruits in the morning than I do when I eat them in the evening. Interesting. Never expected that one.

This week, I also added salads into my diet, more fruit, more veggies. I've mentioned before I'm not a huge fan of either one. Neither are my insides. I've had trouble with my innards from the time I was a little girl. I'm allergic to bran, so it's been an ongoing battle my whole life. How I didn't end up dead with the constant inflammation is a miracle.

I cut bran from my diet years ago. It helped.

This year, I cut eggs alone. I miss them less and less.

I'm cutting almonds, and noticing the same effect. I miss them less and less.

The bottom of my right foot feels like I'm walking on glass. This is new. This is not good. I can't figure out what I've done. It might be a problem with my ankle as opposed to a pressure point.

Chronic pain does not bring out the best in me. I'm all ruffled and can't figure out why until I remember some of the pain never goes away. Funnily enough, I'm able to pick myself up and go on more cheerfully once I know I'm not being grumpy for the sake of being grumpy. Yes, I worry about this. I've been accused of it. I spend too much of my days double checking what's me and correcting the lies I've been told my whole life.

Onward.

Week 144 of REAL...

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.

PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
Up to 30, again.

21: 2-mile walk. SEALp. PT. UB.

22: 3-mile walk. PT

23: Easy 1 mile.

24: 2-mile walk. SEALp. PT. UB.

25: PT.

26: 2-mile walk. SEALp. PT. UB.

27: PT.

Next follow up...

Sometimes, following my daily routine closely helps me spot flaws, tie things together, evaluate what works and what doesn't.

Though I didn't add much to Tough Luck, I spent quite a bit of time with pen to paper becoming better acquainted with Brent and Cindy. I'm fiddling with titles for the serial, when I publish in paperback four of the stories at once.

My sister took me to pick up work and grocery shopping. It was nice to have someone with whom I could bounce around ideas, both with my writing and my eating.

This week's grocery shopping was different. What I've been doing wasn't working, so I'm making changes. It will be interesting to see what transpires.

Sleeping is weird. Temperatures are rising but not enough to keep the A/C running, so my room is pretty warm sometimes.

Settling back into my exercise routine.

Follow up on yesterday...

Worked a bit on Tough Luck.

Took care of some a few things hanging over my head.

Enjoyed some reading.

Eating a little better.

Listened to Cast in Bronze's Bells From Hell. O Fortuna was meant for the carillon.

So was Carol of the Bells.

Today, I continue working on Tough Luck and start work on Tarnished Knight, my next Regency novel for Desert Breeze Publishing.

Carpe Diem... Cali...

NASCAR ~ Carl came in 10th. Woohoo! Go Carl!

Editing was done. Woohoo!

Everything else on the list... not so much.

I enjoyed catching up on some movies and reading.

This week will see editing sometime.

I've some decisions to make, still.

I also need to dive into writing, novels and novellas.

Reading is simply part of the equation.

My exercise routine is improving.

My Heroes... Those who stand...

To those who stand for what is right and true:

Thank you.

There are plenty who fight for what is popular, comfortable, politically correct... those who fight for what they believe to be difficult... they paint themselves as heroes...

Fighting for a lie, even an appealing lie, is not honorable.

I'm still struggling to incorporate honor in my life.

I've seen plenty of incidents deemed honorable. I thought I didn't understand honor. The more I've studied honor, the more I believe I understand honor fine. There are, however, plenty of people willing to twist the truth to justify their point of view. They use the word 'honor' to justify their actions.

Defending a point of view does not constitute honor.

Honor requires truth.

Lies often masquerade as truth.

The truth always comes to light, no matter how many lies are piled on top of it.

Follow up on the middle of the week...

The editing was done in a timely manner. Yay!

The writing... not so much. I'm working on it. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not focusing or because I've other responsibilities or I'm distracted... Yes, I really do look at them as different things. They may be all in the same. Tough Luck is coming along, but much more slowly than I'd hoped, which is proving to be a perpetual problem.

Am I misusing the time God has given me?

Or am I not appreciating what I am able to accomplish?
