TBR

61. Rip Van Winkle and the Pumpkin Lantern by Seth Adam Smith fantasy. Mr. Smith gave the Rip Van Winkle story his own twist, interwoven with elements from several fairytales. An enchanting read and added to my keeper list.

62. Code Name: Johnny Walker: The Extraordinary Story of the Iraqi Who Risked Everything to Fight with the U.S. Navy SEALs by Johnny Walker and Jim DeFelice nonfiction. What a fascinating and inspiring book. I appreciated the opportunity to read about the war in Iraq from the point of view of an Iraqi fighting for his love of his country. I have it as an ebook, but I'm buying it in paperback as a keeper. There is some language, typical of most military books I've read.

63. Here for You Always by Margaret O'Neil contemporary romance. Some language and steamy scenes. I enjoyed some of it and wanted to skip parts of it. The story kept me engaged, but I'm not interested in reading another.

64. Temperance's Trial (Episode 1 of the Virtues and Valor series) by Hallee Bridgeman World War II romance. Hallee uses real WWII heroines as her inspiration for this series. Hallee's books are on my Must Buy list.

65. Homeland's Hope (Episode 2 of the Virtues and Valor series) by Hallee Bridgeman World War II romance. Hallee uses real WWII heroines as her inspiration for this series. She relates the real story of the heroine who inspired the book. This would be a great miniseries. The books really are episodes of an interrelated story.

REAL Week 465

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.  Since my accident I haven't done these, but I'm working to add them back into my routine. Currently, I can't sit on the floor and hope to get up again, so crunches and flutter kicks are on hold, and my pushups are against the wall.

Using 1-lb weights:
PT ~ Physical therapy
UBP ~ Upper body exercises and pushups

SEALFit shared some good hints I want to learn and remember:

22: 1-mile walk. PT. UBP. x3. Stretch.

23: 1-mile walk. PT. UBP. x2. Stretch.

24: Rest.

25: 2-mile walk. PT. UBP. x4. Stretch.

26: 1-mile walk.

Brain Dump

"If you can't make a product better make it harder to get into." This is a quote from one of my seventh grade textbooks. The article was on advertising. Yes, I've remember the quote all these years. It made an impact.

Dove chocolate, sadly, is following this proving the quote to be true. They've changed their packaging and reduced the number of pieces of chocolate from 36 to 30 but are still charging the same price. Not impressed. I think I've purchased my last bag of Dove chocolate.

I love when God provides the weird, silly, little things.

The same day I bought my last bag of Dove chocolate the sale shelves at Fry's had a bag of dark chocolate chips made by a company called Enjoy Life, and it's soy free! In fact, the yummy little chips have two ingredients.

Unsweetened chocolate and cane sugar. Hooyah!
