Brain Dump

Or things that make you go hmmm...

California is proposing to limit each person to 55 gallons of water a day and reduce it over time.

I've heard people ask "How are they going to do that?"

Easy. Water meters.

However, what if you have a guest? Or several guests? Like the family drops in. For that matter, how will they know how many people live in a residence? Do a house to house inspection?

What if you're sick and use the bathroom, a lot?

Does this include bottled water? What about the water used as a restaurant or other business?

Have the powers that be in this insanity figured out how much water a dishwasher, washing machine, shower, bath, cooking things like spaghetti use? Do they care?

How will businesses be regulated?

Short side note: Only 5% of the water is used by residences.

So, yeah, "How are they going to do that?

Tricky question: What about the pipes? The ones that go from houses and apartments. I ask because I know someone who's a civil engineer. When planning a city, civil engineers figure out the lay of the pipes by calculating how much water is anticipated to flow through those pipes. The water is important because it keeps the sludge moving.

Here's the pickle: If you reduce the amount of water flowing through the pipes, the sludge builds up... you see where this is going, don't you?

Or is this simply a matter of political elitists dictating to the peasants?

Hmmm...
