Brain Dump

"The hand that rocks the cradle rocks the world."

What a powerful position to hold.

And yet...

Mothers are told that they aren't contributing if they don't have a career outside the home. Women are told that careers will complete them. Women are told that children are a burden, time and energy suckers, expensive.

Women who stay home with their children are told that they are coddling their children. They're told that they're less than everyone else. They're told they're a liability.

Single mothers are a different story. They have been idolized because they're doing it on their own. Many of them would prefer to have someone to share the responsibility, but men are vilified. Hence the women doing life without them are heroes.

The world says that women are marginalized, treated as slaves, are less than. And we foolishly believe the world.

How the adversary must laugh.

I know men and women who struggle to keep their heads above water. Being treated as less than is not unique to women. Pretending that all men have it better is as stupid as pretending that all women have it worse.

The mindless self-focus the world encourages is all the adversary needs. It keeps us distracted and blinds us to the daily opportunities to help others over a stumbling block.

The adversary relishes harping on demanding what's fair.

Who decides the definition of fair?

Fair isn't real. It's an illusion, created to manipulate others, especially those who are targeted for being "more blessed."

In all this manufactured dissatisfaction, we've lost sight of the important things, like "The hand that rocks the cradle rocks the world."
