Brain Dump

Why I don't wear the security blanket over my face:

Aside from not being able to breathe, here are things that influenced my decision:

The New England Journal of Medicine, early on and again last June, stated that outside the medical profession, masks have little, if any, benefit.

The Center for Infectious Disease, chaired by Dr. Michael Osterholm, at the University of Minnesota, put out a study stating the lack of effectiveness of masks.

In an interview with scientists from Oxford, they stated that masks don't really help and may, in fact, facilitate infections.

The side of the mask box specifically states that it is not useful to protect against coronaviruses.

Dr. Scott Atlas, of Stanford University, stated that most people wear masks incorrectly, which makes them useless. He also stated, as have numerous others, which I will include here below, that the virus is smaller than the weave of any mask.

A retired mask salesman, who had to be certified in what each mask could and could not do, stated that masks are not for protection against viruses, which are too small for a mask to filter.

A woman who had to be OSHA certified in the use of masks stated that masks are not useful against viruses. Masks must be professionally fitted by an OSHA certified mask expert for every single person using a mask. There are different sizes, and some people simply do not fit any of the sizes. The OSHA certified mask expert checks for fit and oxygen intake to ensure the person wearing the mask is getting the recommended level of oxygen.

For those who like the "surgeons wear masks all day" argument, the above 2 experts stated that surgeons only use masks in a sterilized environment. The above expert also stated that the surgery rooms have a slightly higher oxygen mix in order to make up for the masks reduced oxygen intake and increased carbon dioxide.

Personal observation: In laboratories, where people are working with viruses, they wear full hazmat suits. So, there's that.
