Brain Dump

What if it isn't about the mask at all?

I know "good" Christians who condemn those who don't wear a mask, saying that they are violating the Commandment to love your neighbor as yourself.

I know "good" Christians who condemn those who wear a mask, saying that they are violating the Commandments to have no other God's before Me and to love God with all your heart, might, mind, and strength.

The first group justify their decision by citing government and world organizations that have said masks may help.

The second group justify their decision by citing studies that have said there's no definitive evidence that masks work.

How fascinating that both groups place their trust in men.

Some of both groups have diligent sought wisdom and asked God what they should do. Yes, it's possible for two people to receive different answers to the same question. God is aware of the circumstances and need of each.

Those who don't believe in God believe that imperfect men are capable of creating perfect answers.

The adversary challenged God, promising that he would save everyone and demanding he be given God's glory. Needless to say, when I hear "we're going to make sure everyone is taken care of" or "this will save everyone" I immediately think "whose plan is that?"

We are commanded to judge between good and evil and choose good.

What if the truth is God is testing us? Not whether or not we'll be obedient to this or that directive but will we love others no matter what?
