Brain Dump

I was looking up mousetraps and pingpong balls. Sadly, I discovered someone, several someones, ignorantly used it as a way of explaining the importance of social distancing. This isn't science; this is game playing, and policy was decided by this silliness.

People are not pingpong balls. Pingpong balls are all alike, flawless, no variance. People are different, individuals, no two are alike, not even identical twins.

The problem with their theory: Some people have strong immune systems, some don't; some have healthy levels of various vitamins, some don't; some have few underlying health problems; some have many.

Social distancing has been proven ineffective, even by the "powers that be." Which means it was never effective to begin with, which means the premiss was based on false information and theories. I didn't need proof from the "powers that be." A little critical thinking goes a long way.

Brain Dump

Let me get this straight: The government has created a phone hotline where you can call and report family and friends and neighbors that you believe are extremists.

What could go wrong?

Don't like your ex? Call and report him or her.

Want to get back at your sibling or other family member? Call and report him or her.

Resent your neighbor, for whatever reason? Call and report him or her.

Have an argument or disagreement? Call and report whoever doesn't agree with you.

Congratulations on having a new way to destroy freedom and liberty, except it isn't really original. Just ask Germany how well it went over, or any other communist country...oh...snap...

REAL Week 621

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
Right up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. My pushups are against the wall.

Using 1, 2, and/or 4-lb weights:
PT ~ Physical therapy
UBP ~ Upper body exercises, pushups, and chair sits against the wall

SEALFit shared some good hints I want to learn and remember:

18: 1/4-mile walk PT UBP 0-lb x3 Stretch

19: 1/2 mile walk PT UBP 0-lb x3 1-lb x3 Stretch 1-hr vacuuming

20: Rest

21: 1-mile walk PT UBP 0-lb x3 1-lb x3 Stretch 45 minutes yard work

22: 1/2 mile walk PT UBP 0-lb
x3 Stretch

23: 55 minutes walk and yard work PT UBP 0-lb x3 1-lb x3 Stretch

24: 1/2-mile walk PT UBP 0-lb x3 Stretch

FlyLady

Anonymous has left a new comment: Can you go over more about what specifically FlyLady taught you about things you love and like?

I loved FlyLady's mantra: You are not behind. Start right where you are.

She sent email reminders, every day.

I enjoyed her, in the beginning. She taught me how to build routines that helped make many things easier to remember. The best part is that she started slow and small. She gradually added one thing to the morning routine. However, eventually, her routines became too complicated for me to follow. I'm able to do 3-5 things. More than that and I forget or get lost.

Swish and Swipe was an awesome shortcut. I wipe down the bathroom, every day, taking less than 5 minutes. Once a week, I do a more thorough job.

Shiny sink was great, except my dad invariably dirtied the sink. He'd have a snack in the middle of the night and leave the dishes in the sink. FlyLady advised cleaning the sink before bed so that you wake up to a clean sink.

I finally discontinued the emails but still use many of the things she taught me.
