Another follow up...

I'm only starting Tarnished Knight, so I need the incentive to keep working... Incentive isn't the right word. I need the encouragement the rest will come. I actually have pages of notes to add, but I haven't reached the right spot for them.

I opened Wings to Fly, the book due the month after Tarnished Knight. It already has almost have my word count. I don't know how much rewriting I'm going to have to do as I started it years ago.

Something pretty to inspire me:

Carpe Diem... Sonoma...

NASCAR ~ GO CARL!! Woohoo! Carl's first win on a road course at Sonoma! His second win this season. His 23rd career win. Happy dance! Go Carl!

What needs to be done this week?

Tackling Tarnished Knight, the next book in the Endless Possibilities series.

We're almost half way through the year. Hopefully, the second half won't be quite as... hectic... busy... problem-filled... adventurous!

Two novels and four novellas in the first half, two novels and two novellas slated for the second half.

It's easier already.

My Heroes... Thomas M'Kean...

His father was from Ireland, and his family moved to America before he was born. He proved himself a bright student and pursued law, as many Founding Fathers did. What I find interesting is that law inspired their fight for freedom from oppression but what they accomplished reached far beyond being a lawyer. He served in myriad positions, at the request of the people, not seeking the office for himself. In one case, the people accepted his decision to decline serving so asked him to recommend other men to serve. Those men were voted in by an obvious majority. His law firm chose to not used stamped paper to protest the Stamp Act. Serving in Congress, he also served in the military. He supported the Declaration of Independence but didn't sign it until October because he was serving with General Washington. He moved his family five times in one year because the enemy was hunting him. There were those who honored and admired him and those who disliked him to the point of seeking to impeach him when he was Governor of the Common Wealth. It remained indefinitely postponed.

I'm ever astonished by how incredibly busy these men were. They often did not seek the positions they ended up serving in. They did what needed to be done.

Food Follow Up...

Friday, started the day with rice crispies, raspberries (sadly they didn't last as long as I'd hoped), with cow's milk and coconut milk. Pizza for lunch, thank you Little Caesar and the wonder of a large for $5, which makes 4 meals for me. I'd told my sister a few weeks ago I wanted to learn how to eat only 2 slices. When I'm invited for pizza I have trouble not eating 3 or 4 slices, even though it hurts to eat that much. Deprivation kicks in, i.e., I don't know when I'll have it again. Now, with how easy it is for me to simply stop by Little Caesar and how inexpensive it is, relatively speaking, the sense of deprivation is diminishing.

And life happens.

The good news is that I haven't gained weight. Neither have I lost it.

Thursday, Rice Chexs and milk, hamburger and sweet potato fries and milk, chicken sandwich and baked chips and milk.

Back on the bandwagon, keeping track. It really does help me to be aware of what I'm eating so I don't gobble mindlessly.

Week 156 of REAL...

REAL - Reduce stress Exercise Adequate sleep Lower caloric intake

What Navy SEALs are required to do to make it into BUD/S:
RIght up front: Never in a million years could I do what is required. However, I needed to start somewhere. Considering how fit the SEALs are, I figured it was a good place to start. So my SEAL puppy reps (SEALp) consist of girls' pushups, crunches, and flutter kicks, a SEAL training basic. I started with doing one of each.

PT ~ Physical therapy using 2-lb and 1-lb weights, alternating days.
UB ~ Upper body exercises
I'm starting low, at 10, to restart my workouts, with no weights yet.

13: 1-mile walk. PT. UB.

14: PT

15: Rest.

16: PT. UB.

17: 1-mile walk. PT.

18: 1-mile walk. PT. UB.

19: 1-mile walk. PT.
