Mary became the wife of Robert Morris at age 20. Her husband was 15 years older. Joy of joy, her letters are available. What a delight to read her stories of what is happening to their children. She talks of what's needed for moving, again and again. As her husband stirred the pot, she was left to move home and children from one place to another seeking safety for herself and the children, all the while attempting to maintain a sense of home. She also speculated on the romances of the notable men and women of the day. Through it all, she was revered by the men of the day as a woman worthy of admiration. She survived her husband being jailed and his death a few years later. She was strong and gracious. A woman worth emulating.
