At the age of twenty-four, she married Edward Rutledge, a lawyer. They had two children, a son who married and a daughter who did not. The daughter devoted herself to helping orphans and homeless girls. Edward married to please his parents, but it isn't mentioned why Henrietta married him. She wasn't of good health and lived her life quietly, dying in 1792.
