Brain Dump

This was posted on a friend's social media. I politely chose not to respond. They're allowed to believe what they want. I'm not the thought police. I needed to explore each topic, to explain to myself what I believe and why:

14. I believe in funding sustainable energy, including offering education to people currently working in coal or oil so they can change jobs. There are too many sustainable options available for us to continue with coal and oil. Sorry, billionaires. Maybe try investing in something else. We are killing our planet: you won't make much money if that happens.

This statement is so appallingly ignorant it's frightening.

If you want to fund "sustainable energy," please feel free to do so. Expecting everyone else to believe what you do and forcing everyone to support your beliefs is tyranny.

No, the science is not settled. That's a weak argument. The purpose of science is to prove the experts wrong. Science is never settled.

Green technology requires rare earth metals, which are RARE as in scarce as in there isn't enough to meet your demand. Have you looked into the mining of rare earth metals? The making and disposal of solar panels and windmills is so expensive and dirty that it makes coal and oil look clean.

Nuclear Energy is the least expensive and cleanest form of energy, but it is rejected due to ignorance.

Another perspective on the wonders of increased carbon emissions: Plants love it! Are you saying you hate plants?

Finally, suggesting that man is so powerful that he is able to destroy an entire planet is mind bogglingly arrogant. However, we are at an impasse: You are suggesting that God is incapable of taking care of His own creations...that Man is more powerful than God. I don't believe this. Are you saying that your beliefs are more important than mine?
