Mr. Livingston didn't sign the Declaration of Independence, but he was part of the committee that helped frame it. There was no given reason why he didn't sign it except perhaps because his constituents were not supportive. He was an advocate for independence and served his country in various offices. His interests were wide and varied. He's also the last man featured in Lives of the Signers of the Declaration of Independence. It's well worth the read.
Opportunities were offered and accepted. If a stumbling block impeded the way, it was moved, blasted, or crawled over. I want to do this.
