Brain dump...

"If you don't want your tax dollars to help the poor, then stop saying you want a country based on Christian values, because you don't." - Jimmy Carter

Mr. Carter, you are misguided.

Christian values encourage hard work, helping others of our own accord, accepting personal responsibility and accountability. Christian values follow the Ten Commandments.

The government does not follow any of the Commandments. The values on which this nation was established were based on Bible verses, the same Bible being removed as quickly as the government can arrange it.

If my tax dollars went to help the poor, I wouldn't mind. However, my tax dollars pay Congress ridiculously high salaries. My tax dollars pay for people who don't want to work. My tax dollars go to incredibly stupid studies. My tax dollars are mismanaged, lost, and embezzled.

Jesus wanted us to invest ourselves in helping the poor, not expect the government to do it for us.

Mr. Carter, your way is lazy and irresponsible, corrupt and selfish, and nothing to do with Christian values. Pretending tax dollars help the poor in a Christian way is delusional.

Rule #1: Stop lying, especially to yourself.
