This week, we lost three firefighters battling the fires in Washington. May God bless their families.
Over a thousand responders are fighting those fires.
It's a brutal, miserable, dangerous job. Hot weather, unpredictable winds, and the vagaries of Mother Nature combine against people who have trained hard and work hard.
I can't imagine choosing to do this kind of work. Others dreamed of being a firefighter.
To each, God gives different talents and gifts. It is up to us to decide what we will do with what we are given. Will we develop what we've been given or hide it away? We decide.
