With the loss of yet another life to drugs, I see the same laments:
They were so young.
They only did marijuana but then were caught up in other drugs.
Sadly, marijuana really isn't "safe."
It's a gateway drug.
Now for the kicker:
A pharmacist I know explained that unlike other drugs, including alcohol and cigarettes, once you stop using marijuana any damage done to the body is not reversed. Even with drugs like heroine, once the user stops the body is able to recover. Perhaps not to it's original state but there are improvements. With marijuana, any damage done is permanent.
I know, I know, but the experts say...
If you've read my blog at all, you know what I think of the "experts." Experts tend to have an agenda of their own, and they don't generally make it public. How often have studies been quoted only to prove or disprove something, only for it to be revealed later the study was financed by the competition?
Recognize the studies are flawed and pay attention to what is happening right in front of you.
Stepping off the soapbox.
